  1. 2.  Frans HAARHOF, progenitor was born about 1685 in Hamm, Germany; died on 18 May 1758 in Swellendam, Cape, South Africa.

    Notes:

    Arrived 1719 from Hamm in Germany on the "Meyden", assistant to Paul Roux and from 29.3.1723 for Maria le Fèbre widow of Jan Roy. He and Maria handed in their wedding bands to Ds. van Aken of Drakenstein. A Catharina Hofman, however, objected claiming that she and Haarof were already engaged. Ds. van Aken stopped the reading of the bans and referred the case to the mariage court. The court rejected Catharina Hofman's objection and approved the marriage between Haarhof and le Fèbre.

    Arrived as a soldier in 1719. Started working for Maria Catharina leFebre (widow of Jan Roi) on 29/3/1723 and married her in ca 1724.They had three children.

    Travelled aboard the Meynden as a soldier. It departed from Texel on 16 May 1719, arrived in Saldan Bay on 22 Sep, departed 27 Sep and arrived in Table Bay on 1 Oct 1719

    Frans married Maria Catharina LE FEBRE, a2b4 in 1723 in Drakenstein, Cape, South Africa(Paarl). Maria (daughter of Pierre LE FEBRE, a2 and Maria DE GRAVE) was born in 1686 in Fleurbaai, Stellenbosch, Kaap de Goede Hoop, Zuid-Afrika; was christened on 13 Oct 1686; died on 1 Sep 1782 in Cape, South Africa.     Arrived at the Cape in 1683 with his wife. In the marriage register of Guines, France there is an entry on 9.5.1677 of a marriage of Pierre Le Febre with Marie Guignart which could possibly that of the immigrant. Lived at Fleurbaix.
    du Plooy.paf: Hulle was van die dorpie Fleurbaix in die destydse Franse provisie Artois, afkomstig. Aankoms 1683 met sy vrou. In 1696 woon hy op die plaas "Fleurbaai" onder Stellenbosch. Saam met hulle was Pierre se suster, Barbere, wat in 1684 trou met Nikolaus Cleef.
