    The inventory of his deceased estate lists a house and garden situated in the Tafelvalleij (today Cape Town) which had been bought in the last two years or so (the last payment was still owing) from Willem van Wijk, valued at 1500 gulden, as well as 300 sheep, three beasts of pulling, half of a wagon, the other half owned by Jan Marschalck, 3 horses (2 ruijns and 1 mare).

    Also a good collection of household furnishings, the total valued at 3000 guldens, not rich, but not badly off, and not too many debts.
