    Herculé was a French Huguenot refugee from Courtrai. He arrived in the Cape in 1688 on the ship "Schelde," with his parents from Vlissingen, Netherlands.
    He was a member of the "Kollege van Landdrost" and heemrade of Stellenbosch. He also served as captain of the "burger-kavallerie". Later he settled on his father's farm "De Zoete Inval" (now Paarl Station).

    Hercules married Marie LE F in 1696 in Cape, South Africa. Marie (daughter of David LE FEBRE and Elizabeth (LE) BLEU) was born in 1651 in Marcq, Calais, Pas-De-Calais, France; died on 12 May 1712 in Cape Town, Cape, South Africa. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
